Could never get on with the Pro Motion - shim tool - there is probably a knack to using it. But could not get it working for me.
Have a genuine Kawasaki one, found it much easier.

The Motion Pro tool isn't too bad with stock valve springs. But once you upgrade to HD valve springs, the clamp style tool is really the only option.
I have used both, but I use the clamp style tool to change shims in my own bikes.
The factory tool is still available - and always has been. I don't know why some of you think it is rare. We sell it, and I'm sure Marsden sells it too. It's just not cheap... I bought my first one back in 1977 (which I think chrisu might have now...). We have a replica of that tool as well - we had them made as there's no telling when Kawasaki will discontinue the real one.

yes i do and its still giving sterling service.......
