Looking good we should get a photo of them all together.
Perhaps we could have an 'endurance' section on a future club stand ??
and other Kawa (Zed) based race bikes, theres seems to be quite a few in the club
I think it would be a great idea, One Standard z1 on a plinth then surrounded by Endurance bikes / race bike replica's
It would make a nice change from the standard theme that has been a big part of the celebrations of the z1 this year.
(Maybe we should create a discussion subject rather than hi'jack this thread!)
Mmmm, maybe it's time I 'shared' something.

I'll start a new topic in 'Meetings & events'.
It'll be titled; Stafford 2013, Our 25th Anniversary Stand.

Opinions invited please (don't know why I am asking because everyone on here will give one wanted or not). Started building out the rolling chassis. I'm thinking that a) the USD forks give it a slightly nose down look and b) that front mudguard is just not right. Obviously I am not after perfect period replica otherwise I would not have used these forks but would we agree the mudguard has to go?

Looking good Martin. I'd wait till you get the fairings fitted as they are large, then you will be able to see it all working together. But I do like the USD forks, it works with the back end

I'd keep it until the fairing is fitted, I think it will look great and add a twist to the whole concept, I do thing a standard looking guard would look lost with the big brakes, usd and endurance fairing.

Saw your martin project. Looks cool. So i thought i would join the forum. As i'm also building one myself. Nice to see that youv've gone for an endurance look. Well impressed with the paint job. Looks megga. I could post my own efforts as it's been a nightmare.
Cheers
Thanks for the kind comments. There are loads of fantastic builds on here at the moment so you will never be bored plus endless help and advice. Once you get the hang of it posting photos is not that hard, just time consuming! There are a number of threads that will help you with it but basically you just need an image code from photobucket.com. Get posting!

Been a long time but finally had a weekend with no domestic duties so applied myself to the Martin project.
Since last update I had to take front end out again as the forks were leaking oil. Sent them off to Brookes Suspension who change seals, dust covers, replaced oil and checked them for true all for £100.
Next job engine, new pistons fitted, barrels on without too much swearing. Then comes the fun of getting it back in the frame on your own. Being last summer it came out I had completely forgotten the weird angles it has to be turned through to get it in. 30 mins of lifting and cursing has it back in the frame and we are starting to look like a bike again. Next job is head back on which I will attack in the week now we have daylight in the evening.
