As per title,iam having problems with the charging on my b1.I fully charged my battery,put it back on and checked output at the battery.got approx 13.75v without load,but with the lights on only got 12.60v.I carried out a visual check on the wiring and found the wires from the stator bare whare they go through the holding brackets,not sure if if they just corroded or rubbed through and shorted.so i cut out the bad bits and repaired the wiring.rechecked charging but still the same.so i unpluged the regulator ran the bike and checked voltage on all three yellow wires all got over 50v ok? but on checking resistance ohms on all yellow wires the only read 000.7 and not the 36-54 it should be? is my stator f--ked even with good output on voltage. i think my regulator is f--ked best i can tell with ohms readings of 2395 both ways.dont want to buy both if i can help it.thought stator should be ok going on output voltage,but going on ohms its not?I would be grateful for any advice.If i replace the regulator and the stator is dodgy will it re f--k the regulator? If you have 50volts ac plus between all 3 outputs from genny should be fine,check to see if you have 14.6 volts dc at about 3k rpm across battery if not suspect reg/rect,try that first then come back..Paul J

Cheers mate,All my readings from the jenny are over 50v ac . It was just the ohms readings that threw me a bit.but dc voltage at the battery is low ,Will try the regulator as you suggest. I don't want to rain on the parade but I had this on my b1, when I took off the generator cover I found some of the windings were black e burnt out. I had 50 V but the generator could not deliver any current. I bought an updated one from electrex plus a regulator (this had also blown) and problem solved.

Different veiwpoint check you a good earth connection from the regulator black wire corrosion can sometimes cock things up with high resistance

Found when i ran the bike and put a meter one end to earth and the other to my engine casing i got voltage through the casing
Not a good sign.on removing my stator it looked burned,ordered another just before christmas,but postman pat must have a z as i never got it.I ordered another and got it yesterday and fitted it today.charging now fine over 14v with or without lights,perfect just in time for the snow
