z1000j2 ...keys lost...

#1 PostAuthor: timyoungman » Tue Nov 27, 2012 2:31 pm

I am looking for a key for a z1000 j2. The seat lock is stamped 024-0T17.
I can't find a number on the ignition barrel but I might not be looking in the right place.

Can anyone tell me if the code above is a key code and where to get a key please. Or, where to look to get the correct key code ??

Thanks :??

no the number you have is not the key number it should begin with Z5 **** it is stamped on the ignition switch + on the metal plate on the back of the r/h helmet lock you might need a magnifying glass to see it as it is very small. if you know the key number this company is excellent + a few members have used this company

Thanks.

I can't read the number on the helmet hook and will need to re-examine the ignition switch...

If not it's a new lock set I need. :|

you will have to remove the ignition lock to see the number it is normally stamped below the main shaft of the switch either on the aluminium casing or on a steel plate around the steering lock

Ashfield security came back to me with this message so I went for the American supplier who seems to only have 1 option for roughly the same cost..

This code gives me two different cutting patterns. These keys would cost £7.25 each including VAT plus and extra charge of £6.00 for delivery including VAT if required.

Please e-mail back.

Regards,

James
