The sun is out lets ride

#1 PostAuthor: Padders » Sun Nov 11, 2012 10:48 am

At last the bloody sun has turned up on the weekend. Just waiting for Ted and Steve to turn up then we are off for a spin to turn the oil in the bikes. Will post a couple of pictures later.

I actually got the GT380 out today - and ended up pushing it home  Had major electrical problems, with things beginning to 'shut down' and the bike started missing a lot. Switched the lights off, and things improved for a while as I limped homewards. Then the indicators stopped working, and the dimly glowing neutral light extinguished itself about a mile from home.

Closer inspection and removal of the battery revealed no electrolyte in the cells, which might not have been helping things  Now on charge - fingers crossed - and further investigations pending.

Come on - it's dark now - so where's the photo's

I took me W650 for a spin after fitting a "jet-kit" to sort out the lean running these modern bikes suffer...... new plugs & checked the valve clearances and she's sweet as - well chuffed
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

You're right of course..... but to be fair, when the battery is in-situ, the sides aren't visible to check the electrolyte level - and with it being kick-start only, I didn't realise there was a problem until too late :(

I'll be taking the battery out and checking it more regularly from now on though ( assuming it's not knackered ).
