My Z1-R, although numbers match to '78 its got a '80 plate this did come in S.S. its badged as a Z1000 Z1-R. with points ign.
Now the mudguard did not have the struts and mounts for cable guides
So what was it off :?:
Dunnno.
I would leave paint as is until further investigations.

Now by looking at the badges shown and the link they are the D2/D3 type
My mudguard by perusal of above method is or say was of the later D2/D3 type :?
Or was there some compromises on the production line

As far as I remember this was a D3 with about 1200 miles on it with original toolkit, handbook etc. John Oldcorn ahd a few low mileage Zeds as I recall he flogged them all because he emigrated. Someone else may know more. Sorry about the crappy scan this was quite small in the magazine.

Chris, my Z1B is an ex John Oldcorn bike. He had some of the nicest un-restored bikes, incl that Z1R.
Four pipes rule, anything else is second best.
