So this is what i used back in 1984 now lets see if i have clearence in the z650 frame to install 40mm webbers,

It flew, even on my 1000 in 5th at 30mph just leave it in gear rip back and away you went :D

Charlie it did sound good and went well,
But looks like the 650 aint gonna get it done as i put the manifold against the head today and the holes to the head are off, no room for modification so its a no no

Back in the 80's i bought a set up similar to this,that a local lad bought and fitted to his (i think?)z650. It was a cool set up. One of my best mates is building a z650 with a Gpz11 engine fitted with a one off stainless manifold and an SU carb. It was cheaper and easier than finding carbs for the once fuel injected engine. :D Ive done an SU conversion on a suzuki blandit before,as have one of my mates. Car carbs rule. :D :D
