Do I need to earth Dyna S coils?
I realise that this is probably a very stupid question, but do Dyna S coils need an earth? Have read the instructions, looked at the posts but am still not sure of the answer. I will be bolting the coils to the frame with some 10mm aluminium tube as a spacer but the frame will be powdercoated and I won't get an earth unless I remove some of the powder coat. The laminated steel core looks like it should be earthed and logic suggests that you need an earth to complete the spark plug circuit, but would like to be sure.
As Piggy says not needed but be careful about the low tension wires and connections(small wires) on dyna coils the connections are very close to the frame and tank when fitted a good idea to cover screws with some silcon also make sure you get a good 12volts to them any less use the Wired George mod just used it on a GS made a big diif !!! Cheers Paul J
