Newbie Needs Advice

#1 PostAuthor: wild_zed » Sat Sep 22, 2012 12:28 pm

I recently acquired a 1981 Z1000J, and I'm about to start tearing it down for a re-build, but I need a plan

I need some sage advice and wise counsel

Part 1 of the plan is to fit 17 inch wheels and tyres - or am I wasting my time?

If I go ahead with this mod, what is the best recommended replacement forks and swing arm ??
Ive heard that the JMC swing arm is highly recommended (but their website is down)
Do the early ZX6 or ZX10 forks, brakes and wheels fit or can they be modded to fit
Can the speedo drive be recalibrated for the smaller wheels

so many questions

Have a look at what I did with a 'J'.

Big chunk missing, due to the meltdown we had last year, but it should give you some ideas.

JMC............ Don't mention them, you'll make some members cry.
