If you have the original cables, there will be a part number on them. If genuine, it will be 12-xxxx - the 12 refers to a partial for the Kawasaki part number 54012-xxxx.
The Z1R came with handlebars similar to superbike bars. I'm not 100% sure of the bars sold on the UK version of the 1000, but I can't imagine they are lower than the Z1R bars.
Hi Jeff, thanks for the reply. The cables I had (with drag bars mind) were numbered: 12-1020 and 12-150 (approx 35 inches long inner without slack, i.e. not nipple to nipple) . I can take a photo of them with a tape measure but the are deffo much shorter than 40 inches :/ Nipple to nipple, yes 40 inches but these aren't supposed to suit the high bars, although having tried my old cables they seem perfect as I possibly routed them differently to make them fit (if than makes sense?).
So I reckon yes, the 40 inch should work if I route them correctly though, so I'm thinking the short 40 inch cables are correct for me.
Order will be in the post soon for 40 inch cables
