Thread Repair Kit Recommendations

#1 PostAuthor: LTD Project » Sun Aug 19, 2012 1:13 am

See my thread in Projects

Can people recommend any thread repair kits that they have used and been particularly please / impressed with?

At least 8 Cam bearing cap threads to repair.

It is worth my efforts or am I better off putting into an engineer shop? Anyone recommend any in the York Leeds area if that is what they think?

Thanks
Help and motivation always required......

I have always used Helecoils.

Another make of the same system is RECOIL. I have sets made from both manufacturers.

I have had many, many success stories using them at work or in my own garage.

A lot of truck makers use them as "original". An example being on the alloy bellhousing of a DAF.

Just be familiar with the operation and TAKE YOUR TIME.
