VJMC South Cheshire show - Sunday August 19th

#1 PostAuthor: Big Fluff » Fri Jul 27, 2012 3:02 pm

As some of you may be aware, I run the South Cheshire branch of the VJMC.
After last year's highly successful show, we are again holding another FREE ride-in show, SUNDAY AUGUST 19th.
The show is open to everybody, regardless of VJMC membership.
In addition, ALL motorcycles pre 1990, including European, British and Japanese, are invited for showing. Again this is completely FREE.

There are 13 awards up for grabs on the day for best in class/show etc. in 8 different categories, and the prizes are very generous indeed, especially as our major sponsor for this year is J&S Accessories.!

A multi-prize raffle (all very useful and quality bike related items) will also be held with all proceeds going towards our local RSPCA charity.

There is excellent food and drink available all day, room for helmet storage, and stand pucks provided.

The show opens at 10.30am on Sunday 19th August, at The Bhurtpore Inn, Wrenbury Road, Aston, Cheshire, CW5 8DQ. http://www.bhurtpore.co.uk/
For further details and all enquiries, please contact the VJMC South Cheshire coordinator Will Barber on 01270 780659, 07955 302181, email barbers@rowanhouse1.demon.co.uk or visit www.vjmc.com and look at the events section.

Camping is available at just £10 per tent at our neighbouring pub the Cotton Arms in Wrenbury, which is just 1.2 miles away.
Please feel free to give them a call on 01270 780377 to reserve your spot for the weekend (or just turn up), with the pub/bar open until late, and excellent food, they will make you feel very welcome indeed!
Visit http://www.cottonarms.com/ for more info on the Cotton Arms.
NO CAMPING at the event site The Bhurtpore Inn!

Paul - Can I please ask this to be posted as a 'Sticky' in the shows section.

I have attached our show flyer and map and hope to see you on the day. There is a bigger map on the main VJMC website under the 'Events' section.

Cheers, Will

Thanks John.

Here's an update.....
The landlord Simon’s health has worsened much more over the last two weeks, to the stage where he is now almost unable to even walk.
He has been very apologetic regarding the support he promised food wise on the day, and was hoping that he would ‘pick up’ as instructed by the specialists, but alas things have got much worse. It is therefore with regret that Simon and Nicki have decided that there will be no outside catering on the day. However, all the usual food and drink will be available inside the pub and restaurant all day from 10.30 onwards.

I will be displaying signs on the day to apologise for the lack of outside catering on behalf of Simon.
I hope people won’t judge the show on this unfortunate situation, and understand that it is out of our control.

To be fair, the prices aren't that bad anyway, but service will be a bit comprimised with 600+ people attending. Either bring your own lunch or enjoy theirs.!

Thanks for understanding.... Will

I wouldn't worry too much about the weather.....
It gave out showers here today and all we've had is glorious sunshine, just like last year!
If we're lucky, it'll be the same tonorrow, with perhaps just one small shower and that's it.
