Use a small punch to gently knock the old roll pin out, slightly smaller in diameter than the pin.

Remembr don't t**t it too hard------ you will bend the flimsy welded bracket that holds it to the tank and then the new one will not sit straight-----you have been warned, apply some patience more than brute force

Bongo. What worked for me was the flat screwdriver on a penknife. Insert it into the key slot and wiggle it about a little to make sure you have released all of the lock wafers.
