It looks expensive..... but thats because its made out of a HUGE bit of alloy.
You aint gonna look at it much- on the other hand you know its there and it will bug you.
For me... there are loads of things like that on my bike- sort them over time or you'll never finish the project.

What do you guys think of the rear hanger - is it me or it a large ice cream brick?
Being a lover of ice cream myself I think you are doing ice cream an injustice

Even with the problems of having to bleed it off the bike and the outlay you have already gone to for machining I would seriously consider mounting it under the swinging arm.

Taking shape Ratch, you prob need to move gear actuator lever so the lever is pointing down, as the other member said you will have 1 up 4 down there, changing it to point down should also lower the footlever it looks very horizontal in that position. You would need very flexible ankles!! Keep up the progress. Crofty

Update!
Got the bike back with hopefully all frame and swingarm mods done. It's now a rolling bike that I can paddle about up and down the street like a big expensive scooter.
So the work done on the latest round is the fromt end is complete and bolted up. Steering lock works, front disk spacers are machined and fitted and headlight brackets are machined and on. It's starting to look like the drawing - a bit.
Disk spacers - machined to follow the shape f the hub flanges - fancy. will be anodized black.
Headlight brackets - will be anodized black.
The ridiculous rear caliper bracket is slowly growing on me. It's still mad chunky but I waited ages for it and if I constantly faff around with everything I'll never be done so it'll do for now. It will also be black so maybe will blend better.
Steering lock - just 2 x M8 bolts precisely placed.
Some other shots.
I may need to do some last minute welding as I want to fit this mini-oil cooler under the seat. It's small enough to fit under there. If it doesn't get too dirty, and the rear wheel could also act as another 'fan' if placed correctly. But as I said, getting the oil lines from the sump to cooler would be tricky and maybe not look so cool.
Unless I went with some fixed / copper oil lines that follow the frame's tubing perfectly inside then switch to hoses once out of sight?
This is it - 6" square with a 4" fan.
Engine is at Debbens finally so when I get that back I can start to look into plumbing, wiring and painting stuff.

all 750 come from the sump ..ps is it a turbo bottom end in there ??? as theres an oil pressure switch ??Pigford wrote:Ace job - looking real mean![]()
Do the cooler feeds come out the top of the crankcase - back of the barrels - like the bigger motorsI'd be tempted to make more of a feature of them - as oil lines & coolers are...errrm..... cool
Steve, All 650 and 750 to late gpz inc turbo had oil pressure switch below points/ignition plate on rh side of engine, presume zephyr etc too.
one or two difference with turbo bottom end include different sump gasket to stop oil surge and con rods with bigger small ends, so you cannot easily put n/aspirated top end onto turbo bottom end

cool i didnt know that but the 750 n/a unis had an oil level sensor on sump (no pressure switch) as for the turbo i had one mateCrofty wrote:Steve, All 650 and 750 to late gpz inc turbo had oil pressure switch below points/ignition plate on rh side of engine, presume zephyr etc too.
