The rear light, not brake light, on my 76 Z900, has an intermitant fault, it works and then dies within a few seconds.
Looking at the wiring diagram there is a diode connected to the relay for the hazard flashers and this is where the red wire for the rear light goes.
This is only on the Z900 with hazarsd, not the Z1.
Could this be a switched earth arrangement, and can I easily sort ?
Thanks

the red wire is the live feed to the tail light + comes from the back of the ignition switch. the red wire to the hazard relay is spliced into the red on the tail light but has a resister in line to prevent back feed when the hazards are on. i would check the red wire at the ignition switch either a loose soldered connection or a partial broken connection
First i would clean up all the earths, then if that's not fixed it, I would by pass the hazard flasher, and see if it works OK, and stays on? As my z900 a4, has no hazard flasher, as i am going to put one on, to get it, back to stock, but not fitted it yet. As i would try it myself just to see. The hazard switch, has nothing inside, just a switch on/off, as i have refurbished mine, and ready to fit.
