Well here goes!! I bought the bike in October 2011 & it was in OK condition, for what i wanted it was pretty much perfect. I has set some requirements like it HAD to be a twin, big CC, wire wheels & chain drive..........i kinda liked kawasaki's so this fitted the bill. Besides, the guy selling it really needed the room so i picked it up for reasonable money.
These are the only pics i have of it, they're from the advert. I wish i had taken some more but you get the idea. I was disappointed in a few things like the 'Kawasaki' stickers on the tank & i suspected a few things about that (more on it later) but there aint many of those in Northern Ireland so i picked it up anyway.
First mission was to get her going, im a complete greenhorn at these bikes & the seller said it needed a new starter solenoid, he was wrong. I got a new one & still no go, eventually i found it was the starter button.........but there was more than that! I read alot about the starter clutch needing rebuilt on these bikes so i ordered a rebuild kit, 2 weeks later it arrived & i rebuilt the starter clutch......an easy enough but frustrating job!......still no go!! The starter was making a funny noise (see video) & when i took it apart to rebuild it i found the big gear inside the starter nose was rotating instead of staying put, i used bearing seal to fix it as the small 'key' to hold it in place was mangled.

Eventually i got her going, no way was i throwing money into it until i heard how it sounded, done a compression test as well & all looked ok. It popped a bit from the left cylinder & still does but i hope to sort that soon when i find the cause, idle was high & thats kinda sorted as well now.
