Simon Lister and myself took the car to the "lakes tour" weekend at the heaves hotel near kenda which is specifically for rear wheel drive escortsl. The format is a similar format to a triples club rally with everybody arriving friday afternoon.A ride to the Macolm Wilson M sport factory for a tour and then back to the site for a piss up and awards ceremony. There were over 200 cars entered in the tour of which i would say a vast majority were mk2's.Anyway i luckily managed to pick this up.

On sunday the site is taken over by the RS owners club for a one day show and concours competition for all RS models including the latest focus RS etc...Sensing i was on a lucky winning streak i drove my car into the concours ring for judging.Let me say that these people take concours to a totally different level, its staggering
Mirrors under cars. Most transported by covered trailer.
Bearing in mind we had done 200 miles on the road run we gave it a little mint up as best we could and managed to snag this :D :D

A big thanks to Simon for being good company all weekend and helping to pick bits of grass off the carpet before judging

Congratulations, and richly deserved! Nice drive in the restored motor, a piss up and a couple of awards. All in all, a good weekend I'd say :D

Thanks for that chaps.I have really enjoyed doing this car and it really is a lovely drive....so much so that i am now looking for an Escort track day project to renovate.Track days in winter during the week are pretty cheap and rain will make them more exciting with an Escort.
