how should the caliper hanger be finished on a z900a4 ?

The original ones had a sort of plated type finish, which was a sort of drab olive colour. Don't know exactly what the finish was called or how it was applied, but most people I guess would get it powder coated nowadays the same semi matt black that thecalipers are.

got the calipers stripped and blasted ready for powdercoat, what can be used to fill the piston hole, apart from an old piston, any tips/tricks ?

Wayno i packed mine with newspaper and covered that with heavy duty tape and all was OK.
