Clocks from Z750 Twin

#1 PostAuthor: FreddaAbborre » Mon Mar 26, 2012 7:13 pm

Can I use clocks from a Z750 twin on my Zed? The max limit is 220km/h and 10krmp. Is the angle of the needle the same; so I can use new faces showing 240/12krpm?

Post a pic and either I or Al Marshall can tell you.

The speedo (same as Z650) will be fine, and I can provide you with a MPH dial kit to go over the top of the KMH faces.
The rev-counter should be okay as I believe it's the cam gear ratio that's different on the Z750 twin head. i.e. although Z1 to Z1000A2 rev-counter faces read up to a max of 12000rpm, it should still read correct, but ending earlier at the 10000rpm.
will.

But are the clocks basically the same as clocks for Zeds, but with lower max-gradings?

I'm in Sweden so I would change the faces (10krpm/220km/h) to faces for Z1 (12krpm/240Km/h).

As for the 'workings' inside, Al Marshall would be your best contact. Will

If they both drive off 19" wheel then the gearing should be the same..I guess.
