which Hyd clutch and brake master cylinders?

#1 PostAuthor: rpeters » Thu Mar 15, 2012 7:57 am

I am looking for matching Hyd clutch and brake levers (with reservoirs) for my MKII project. Can anyone suggest any options, looked at Brembo (frighteningly expensive)....any ideas/pics??

Hi Rob I have always used ZRX1100 1200 mastercylinders when I have converted my Zeds to Hydraulic clutch. Always available on e bay and retains the mirror fitments.

See my z1000 on the thread below.

Rob, I tried a couple of Brembo clutch master cylinders (ex Ducati/Aprilla) & couldn't get 'em to work.
I then used ZX7R clutch & brake master cylinders with remote reservoirs that worked a treat.
I might even have a set if you're interested, along with some stubby style Titax levers.

ZRX 1200 or BANDIT 1200 or OLDER GSXR 1100, I used Bandit 1200 set up, found them more plentiful and at better prices than ZRX ones, Ebay is the place to look.

i've used ZRX and Bandit ones - both good but I prefer the look of the ZRX ones.

Very similar to this, same shape, maybe slightly darker in colour.

Also the same nissin parts are used on most kawasakis. ZXR's and Yam YZF750.
Just make sure you get the correct master cylinder bore for twin disc.
On the Drouin i used Aprillia RSV factory Brembo cylinders, coupled with a zxr/zx9 slave the clutch is very light.

I have ordered Braking RS radial clutch and brake master cylinders from Talon. They come complete with reservoirs and were not silly money.

They are special order from Italy, due here in 4 weeks or so.
