Removing a Zed Clutch - in situ?
Am I right in thinking, the only way to remove the clutch basket on me Z1000A2, is to strip the engine! I seem to remember last time I was rummaging around that bit, it looked impossible to get the clutch out without splitting the engine

And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
Agree with Rich... "Cases must be split to remove the clutch basket". I have heard of a mod, where a minimum amount of alloy is removed from the cases to allow removal to be performed without splitting the cases. It is auguable whether it would be considered a necessary or desirable mod, mainly because the cases have to be split to do the mod!
It's good to know that you can leave the crank-shaft, head etc. undisturbed during this basket removal process.

Hi Steve, yeah, all plates seem OK, no ridges/burrs on basket tangs
Its when pulling away on low revs & throttle, it sometimes judders and seems to slip a bit. But clutch don't usually slip other times, like full throttle
Also a bit rattly sounding when toodling along in high gears at low speed, when opening throttle (too lazy to change down)
