Thought i would let you all know about this event.
The Jolly Tar Pub is a good venue, and there are apparently some good bands on too.
Below is the Press Release (Copy and Pasted), as i couldn't get photo bucket interested in a Word document - stands to reason i suppose.
I will be one of the marshalls, so hope to see you there.
Jim
PRESS RELEASE
Charity Motorcycle & Scooter Ride
On Sunday 18th March 2012, the second running of the St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice Charity Ride will take place in Cheshire. Twelve local motorcycle and scooter clubs have come together to organise a charity event to support St Luke’s Hospice in Winsford. Last year five clubs co-operated to gather 200 motorcycles and scooters to raise £1500 for St Luke’s.
South Cheshire Motorcycle Club, South Cheshire Crusaders Scooter Club, Northwest Bikers, The Torch Scooter Club, Beartown Bikers, Cheshire Midnight Runners Scooter Club, Kings MCC, Omega Scooter Club, The Edge MCC, Dabbers Scooter Club, Last Wolf MCC and The Greedy Pigs MCC will be staging a twenty mile ride, open to all types of motorcycles, scooters and M****s, who will make a £4 per bike donation to enter.
The ride will leave St Luke’s Hospice in Winsford at noon, taking a picturesque route through the Cheshire countryside, ending at The Jolly Tar, Wardle. They will be lead by a red London bus. There will be live bands playing throughout the afternoon and a free draw and auction for items donated by local motorcycle dealers and other businesses, for those with an entry ticket.
The live bands playing at The Jolly Tar cover a wide range of tastes: Sonic Tapestry (prog rock), Generation UK (Jam & Who covers etc), and three young indie bands (Interception, Rockwood and Sink or Swim).

Most of the groups involved can also be found on Facebook. The riders will be directed by marshals placed at all significant roundabouts and junctions along the route. All riders will be expected to be road legal and abide by the Highway Code.
Aims: to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice, to promote the positive image of motorcyclists and scooterists, to have fun and meet new people.
History: St Luke’s hospice approached South Cheshire Motorcycle Club in 2010 asking if we could organise a fund raising motorcycle ride out, (as happens regularly in Stoke-on-Trent and the Wirral). As we are only a small club and don’t have the resources to do something on the same scale as Stoke, we liaised with other local clubs and have organised an event where all the money raised goes to St Luke’s. People have donated their time, resources and expertise, including administrators, marshals, musicians, motorcycling retailers, Ray Bispham at The Jolly Tar, Winsford Conservative Club and Carole Nash Insurance.

St Lukes Charity Ride out - Cheshire
Far away across the field,
The tolling of the iron bell,
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.
