hi Taffus, thanks for the reply i have heard of the 2p trick but the springs that bloody strong i car'nt bend the spring enough to get the 2ps or washers in the gaps, i'll have to find a way to stretch it enough to get them in

Just fitted my newly plated spring, tried the coin trick but wasn,t easy to do as that spring is tough and the ends turn.Ended up fitting the spring and locating it in place using the frame as leverage, small bar or extension helped line the bolts up,once one is in the other is easier.Did it single handed, good luck

Just figured this out this afternoon.
Fit spring to loose stand and frame mounting.
Use a socket extension bar to leaver one side of the stand into position. Leave this in situ.
Go to the other side and align the stand using the bar as a fulcrum and this allows you to partly insert the stand bolt in position.
Go back to the other side and using the same fulcrum technique replace the bar with the other stand bolt. Check alignment and tighten.
Worked for me. [/list]

coldsummer wrote:Chris, have you tried putting the spring on first, then attach the stand to the frame? It's often easier doing it that way. Get someone to help you as well, an extra pair of hands works wonders.
By far the easiest way Simon
