I finally got round to drilling out the broken/rusted bolt remains & re-tapping - this is to hold the side stand kaboodal :|

Image

Next is fitting the brakes.... I've gone thru' a few options, this being one that I've now rejected.....

Image

It's a proper MICRON adaptor - converts the forks to use common Nissin 4-pots, etc.

I'm gonna use the lower caliper mount as a direct fit - just need 5mm shaved off the inside to align it - then make a small adaptor lug out of 10mm alloy plate, then JOB DONE :P I had wanted to get a new lug welded on, but the chap reckons alloy fork sliders will most likely deform/shrink if welded and the fork action may suffer
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

DIMESIONS

#126 PostAuthor: KWACKERZ1 » Thu Feb 16, 2012 10:07 am

Hopefully this will be some help for you.

Of the two shocks I have the HYPERPRO is 280mm eye to eye with a 70mm travel and a hyperpro 0467 spring?
The standard harris de carbon is 270mm with 60mm travel.
On the red pict below
A=The swing arm is 430mm pivot to wheel spindle centre.
D=385 from wheel spindle centre to shock mount center and E= 215mm from the shock mount to swing arm pivot centre.
C= The wheel spindle centre sits vertically at a height of 460mm to the top frame tube (the gap with a 17â€￾ wheel and tyre is 6inches)
B= The total length from the shock mount on the frame to the wheel spindle centre is 615mm.

Bear in mind these are measured with a tape measure so may vary 1-2mm.

spring

#128 PostAuthor: KWACKERZ1 » Fri Feb 17, 2012 3:25 pm

Piggy,
Just had a message back from HYPERPRO as I enquired what the spring rate was for the Harris unit and this is what they sent.

Hello Phil,

It runs from 160 to 240 n/mm
Since it has quite a range, you should actually be fine if you adjust the spring pre-load

Regards,

J.troost

Hyperpro

Thought the info may be of use for your shock setup

Did a bit to the front calipers..... Ended up trimming approx 2mm off each lower fork lug, then spent an hour hand filing them flat & square to align the calipers square to the discs :!:

As can be seen, the amount relative to the thickness of the lug s minimal. Next I have to make the top bracket..... The mudguard lugs are in the correct place, but only have 5mm bolts - although they are in pairs :|
