z1000 engine identification

from the engine number on the later (square finned) z1000 engine is it possible to determin the age and which model bike it should be fitted in?

The 1983 1000R2 shares the engine number sequence with the 1983 Z1000 J3 model.
You need to check the frame numbers to confirm.

yep, got the KZTOOR frame number too cheers jack....
its a crying shame what someones done with the frame tbh but at least it has the makings of something nice ......or a money pit :lol:
