Some more pics of the bike after fitting the new rear sprox and chain :D

And I just had to change that alu brake arm to a black one. Think it's more correct against the wheels.

nice bike your shocks are mounted at a angle why is this ? does it handle better or is just because it looks better

The laid down look as preferred by Yoshi etc, if you think about it your weight is transferred better through the shock and it looks so much better.

Would I be right in saying it gives the suspension more 'rising rate' :?

Thats right davy... and the responce is much quicker specially when getting heavy bumps in the middle of a curve, since your body weight is sitting just above the top of the damper and not 10 to 20cm in front of the damper. You can keep up a higher speed through curves

My experience is also that you have much more feeling trough curves and also when doing heavy acceleration. Recommended to try this out on next projects you guys have. :D

This is something I always wonder about guys, and remember that I am most definitely NOT an expert so bear that in mind. On a standard Zed the dimensions from swinging arm pivot to top and bottom of each shock are about the same I believe. Increasing the angle of the shocks obviously results in a marked difference in the geometry, presumably increasing the load on the shock as the top distance decreases.... So, on a twin shock set-up there must be an 'optimum' angle for this arrangement beyond which it simply wouldn't work. Is there a technical method to calculate this optimum geometry? And why did the factory choose the original geometry, overall stability/neutral handling characteristics? (didn't work!). Either way, they do look a lot better with more lean :D

IF you look at any zed thats been used on the track they all seem to have them mounted in this position

Hi Morten - just seen your pictures. Looking good again. The contrast between the black paint and the winter snow is very attractive ....from here. And much nicer than in than in all that Norwegian summer rain

I like the torque arm - have you got one like that on the Rex?
