OK, Hobbo & I have decided to be the 'advance party'.
Rendezvous at the 'digs' is planned for 5.00 pm, which will entail droping a bag off in a room, then we'll be out to find a suitable 'pre curry' venue. :sou

Can't make this, would have been ideal for me! At least for the 'Shortest Travelled' award!
If you like your real ale I can recommend the Farmers Bar at the Kings Head pub which is at the top of the market place: run by the Chiltern brewery, bit pricier than some but good quality beer, no music so it's good for a chat.
There is a Wetherspoons across from the retaurant, seating out front, I forget it's name, good for a cheap pint or two.
The Harrow isn't bad either, usually a good range of ale, outdoor area out back, 4 or 5 mins from the restaurant.
There are plenty more dotted about in the town, you won't have any probs finding one!
GB, there is also a pub literally 4 or 5 mins walk from where you are staying on the Watermead estate, next to the lake. Not been in there but you can get a bus from near there one way for £1.10 to the bus station in town. Taxi back will be £6.50 or thereabouts, I live same distance.
Have a good one!

Sorry you can't make it Baldylocks.

Anyway I thought we should arrange to meet somewhere, even though GB and Hobbo are getting an early start. I'm not an Aylesbury regular, so shall we meet up at the Rockwood, which is just a few doors down from the restaurant? 7.30 onwards. If you're running late, meet at the restaurant at 8.30. If you know of a better place, then post below.

Weather forecast for the weekend is dark and stormy - which could be the state of my guts after a night of curry and Guinness.

Suits me - I will be there at 7.30.

I expect to get to Aylesbury at about 5.30 but do not know how long it takes to get to town from the hotel - I may try and chase GB and Hobbo first...

I'll see you all in the pub. I've worked out that I can "train it" and stay right up until last knockings.

You mean you can remember any of it GB? Bill or tlc's pictures will not lie.

I'd have put money on a GB chin/pavement interface, but in the end it was actually tlc and Bill who managed this. Nothing to do with the beer, I expect - those pavements were dreadfully slippery.

Thanks for making the night guys, especially GB, Rob, Bill and Nosher who travelled a distance to be there.

A legendary evening which started too early really as quite a few beers were had before the food. In the first pub they sell quite a few pork scratchings apparently.
