I thought id give you a bit off an up date so you dont think ive give up :) :)
Im in the process of sorting engine out.All relevant helicoiling has been done on cam cover and spark plug thread sorted out.I have also been decreasing the engine cleaning ready for painting. What a messy and time consuming task
Head is now decoked.
There was also some broken finns on the head.I plan to fix these and paint engine this week.
Will post pics when i get to that stag.

I really like the contrast between the frame and engine :) :) Even if i say so my self.

I'm sure when doing these projects we pick up tips that would be useful to others[may be a new section on the forum]
this may help any one painting their engine.if like me you finned masking up a real pain :x :x Then simply paint engine with all covers still fitted .Then remove covers when paint is dry.As high temp paint does not get hard till its been through a heat cycle. All you have to do is remove paint with white sprite.simple :) :)

That's it till after xmas.I WISH YOU ALL A MERRY XMAS and hope to meet more of you in 2012

And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

The paint is very easy to scratch or remove with wight spirit until been throw

What sort of oven did you use... Electric or Gas :?: I've heard a Pizza oven is best

So what sort of filler rod is used with the Mapp gas - assuming you can get it hot enuff :?:
