Other than sourcing some one off parts and another my interest has gone off on a bit of a tangent in that the gent I am collecting the stuff from next week has a couple of replicas from the z500 series race cup from the early eighties.

Does anyone remember this and have any information they can let me have? Copies are fine.

Some may remember that Damon Hill raced in this series and it was won by Neil Storey. In the following year Neil raced in the Marlboro Clubman Series on a Z1000J.

Any help appreciated!

Can't help you with the race series but I'm looking forward to seeing this progress.

Look forward to seeing the finished bike.

I've got a Z550A1 in nice condition, if I could only work out how you attach a picture to this site !

I would like to say I have been industrious and busy and this is the result.....but I would be telling a porky!

This came my way at a good price so it would have been rude to refuse

Are you going to restore this one?

Did the Z500 have a rear disk originally?

Jim

Yes it did Jim. It was swapped to a drum on the 400J and 550 though.
