Hi All,
I was wondering if anybody knows if plastics can be rechromed, the indicators on my GS need doing, so before I go looking for another set, I just wondered if they can be redone? and where..

Hi Gordon, i'm sure they can, the hard part will be stripping the chrome off, when i was a plating chemist i visited a company in bootle that made plastic print rolls for the company i worked for and the plastics were spayed with a nickel coating before being plated up with another metal, the nickel acting as the cathode on the roll as well as a sub strata, but in all honesty it would probably be cheaper to source a new or decent second hand ones. If not Mikey may be able to help you.
There's plenty of firms that will re-chrome plastics, Just type in "chrome plating plastic" in to google and they are all there.
Alternatively go to http://www.gaterosplating.co.uk/Replica ... ng-Kit.php and check out the diy brush plating kits , worth a go at around £40.

Try Gary Horsford, at GT Paintworks, Brockenhurst.

He can do it, but it is a time consuming process, so not cheap.
