Brother needs help converting 81 gpz to carbs

I bought a basket case 81 GPz 1100 of US manufacture characteristics, about six years ago, just waiting for the day when I could start on it. Long story short, the house is built, the shed is built, blah, blah.

This is where I'm at. I bench tested the air box after this bike wouldn't run right and found it to test bad in a couple of areas. So, I set out to swap in Carbs, via a choice set of 34mm Mikuni's off a police KZ. they've been fitted, then I pulled them back off to work on the wiring.

After removing the fuel injection parts, and wires, I cannot find out why there is no spark. I've followed the wiring diagrams and can't figure it out. Is the brain under the rear fender needed for anything?

The bike is suspect to the wiring woes of a bike that age. There are quite a few places where wires have been tapped for testing, I assume.

What I really need is to find out from someone who knows, exactly what wires I need connected to get the correct spark at the right time.

the injection has its own sub loom, this is connected to the main harness by one three pin plug. the ecu under the rear tail piece is not needed for the carb's . the coil wires are red + and black - for the 1/4 ,and red + and green - for the 2/3. remove the silver relays under the left hand panel and one black wire to the starter sol, it sould be part of the sub loom and the white/ red wires to the battery.
