Phantom bolt

The decoke/glazebust/new rings exercise on my 1981 A1 KZ1100 is going well despite mistakes in the genuine Kaw Workshop Manual, and a Cometic head gasket is on order from the ever-helpful Debbens. All thanks to this forum.
Having succeeded in dropping the barrel onto the crankcase (with the help of my wife) I again appeal for help from those who know.
Browsing through the Clymer manual I find that on page 71, the drawing of the cam chain assembly shows number 21 'a bolt'. This a socket-head screw, I think, which fits vertically into.....what? It is shown above the rear cam chain guide pivot point.
Is this just another test of character for the amateur Kaw owner?

Do you mean the cam chain guide thats bolted in the chain tunnel on the barrels

Yes. I forgot to say that I didn't see such a bolt when I stripped things so I am worried that there should be one but it has fallen on the floor etc etc.
The rear cam chain guide pivots on a steel pin and this bolt seems to be part of that assembly - perhaps not.
Later this evening, if it helps, I can send a photo of the Clymer page.

there are no Allen bolts fitted in that part of the engine

Mark (pigford) is correct - there is a Cam chain guide fixing bolt (M6), to front of cam chain tunnel.

It shouldn't be a cap head, they are a little too proud. Original was a Phillips and best replacing that with the same

the front cam chain slipper on the z1100 is not secured with any bolts it is located with two lugs on the side of the slipper which locates into the cut out's in the cylinder. the rear slipper is located with a steel pin + an aluminium fork with a damper rubber on top + is held in position when the cylinder is in place

Where does no21 (see attached) screw through, and into? Isn't the pin assembly held down in place by the barrel?
Sorry to be a bit slow. I can remove my barrel and have a peer in there and buy a screw if necessary but where does it fit?
I can't see mention of it in the Kawasaki w/s manual, only the Clymer one.

There is no bolt for the A2 or A3

Looks like no 610 in the Kawasaki manual drawing.
In my engine there is the steel pivot pin at the bottom, on top of that there is an aly sort of bridge, then a ferrous metal block encased in black plastic with 'Rear' cast into one face. this last block stand slightly proud and ( I assumed) is held down by the barrel bottom face.
What does screw 610 do? Where does it go?
What page of the K manual is that drawing on?

Ah! Just had another look and realised that 610 is the little dowel that holds the pushing rod spring thingey (?) in place.
So no screw then, although there is one in the Clymer drawing. Funny, that.

Corpy if you wanted to be picky each of the three diagrams shows the cross slide and large alloy cap etc exiting on the RHS of the machine whereas in reality they exit on the left as shown in the accompanying photos.
