wondering if anyone can help, have just put a new battery in my 1976 z1000, started it up and after about 5min, the main 20amp fuse blew, put another one in after checking the terminals of the battery to make sure nothing is touching, another 5min, 20amp fuse goes again, cant understand it all i did was to replace battery and its eating up fuses like nothing on earth, any advice welcome
may need a sparky if nothing works, does anyone no a sparky near the Fife area eg Dunfermline or around that area

main fuse keeps blown

Strange that this should occur after 5 mins..
Difficult to say what the problem is from here but I would start by fully charging the battery then disconnect the charging circuit at the sockets, run the bike and see if it still blows.
I'm assuming that just prior to the fuse blowing previously that you weren't inducing a short circuit by switching the headlamp on, indicating or even turning a corner etc..
