Ginger Bear wrote:Yes, Your bike runs whats called a 'wasted spark' system. Your plugs spark at the top of every stroke, not every other. 1 & 4 spark simultaneously as do 2 & 3.
Swap 1 & 4. It's a very simple test.
Make sure it isn't running or you'll be doing the "Bear Dance" like in GB signature!

Checked sparks at all cylinders & all seem to be about the same strength.
Swopped leads 1 & 4 but it made no difference - problem cylinder seems to be no.1 still (header pipes takes longer to warm up on this cylinder)
Did a compression test & got readings of approx 9Bar / 130 psi across all 4 cylinders.
Still runs like a bag of pooh below 2000 rpm.

No I have'nt
I had a couple of problems with low speed running on the GPz1100B1 (carbed)
first issue was the idle burn was way off on all cylinders, sorted this with a colourtune.
Second issue was intermittent no 3 cylinder ending with plug fail. I thought it was the coil breaking down so ordered some more from Z1enterprises.
Whilst I waited for them to be granted asylum from customs ( they were actually kidnapped and i had pay the post office a ransom to get them released!)
I am running the dyna grey 2.2ohm coils with the standard ic igniter, originally with taylor leads but have now changed them to dyna leads
I thought I would have another look, I removed the coils to swap them over and found a white corrosion in the socket for the ht leads.
It was worse on the one on no 3 but was present in all the others. cleaned this up and bike has run fine since!

Thanks for the tip but mine has the standard coils where the ht leads are sealed in - but I have replaced all of the plug caps - to be honest I'm starting to lose hope of ever getting it sorted (been at it for weeks!)
