carb measurment needed...... please

#1 PostAuthor: 69chris » Thu Aug 18, 2011 1:04 pm

hey guys, does anyone have a set of 34mm (1100R type) carbs sat around ??

if so could you please measure the size of the bit that goes into the mounting rubbers ?

iv read that 36mm gsxr carbs will fit into the standard rubbers but, me being me, have got a set of 38mm carbs instead

i dont know if the bit that fits into the rubbers is the same size on the 36-38mm carbs and getting me carbs off the bike to check is, with the standard airbox, a complete t**t !!!

can anyone help the idiot please :)

40mm.

38mm carbs will make it run funny if its in standard tune. They would also have to have a 1mm wall thickness to the head side inlet stub which i suspect they wont have.

ahhhh, mine are 45mm........................ my plan is foiled

which is a shame as the carbs appear un-used !!!!!!

as far as is the engine standard, i dont know for sure, the po claims he had a rebore and 'piston kit' (his words) fitted after it started using oil some years ago,
and i dont know what other 1100R's are like but mine is quite docile at low revs and then takes off like a lunatic at 7k and is still pulling hard at the redline so ?????

anyhow, i shall look out for a set of 36mm gsxr carbs and go from there,

thanks Al :)
