I intend to fit an oil cooler to my Z1000 J3 where is the best place to take the oil feed from? Also other than a cooler and lines i presume i would need some kind of take off from wherever the oil feed will come from? Are these available to buy or is it something i would need made? Also what size cooler should i be looking for? Sorry for loads of questions but this is a modification i have no experience with at all.
cheers

fitting an oil cooler

The oil pipe block just goes in place of the standard Z1000J oil pressure switch on the uppper crankcase behind #3 cylinder. The touble with using the block off a Unitrack (GPz1100 A1/2) is that you loose the capability for the oil pressure switch as that is fitted under the oil pump (below crankcases) on these models. You shoud get the block/pipes/cooler from a GPz1100 B1/B2 as these have the switch still mounted on top of the block with the oil flow/return pipe mountings on it. Oil pipes route over the head and down to the cooler although there are options usng customs pipes to route it other ways. I have this on my Z1000 J2 and works just fine. Cheers Matt
