Just want to say thanks to everyone for there help. Stripped her back down again and used my own patent glazebreaker to hone the bores and then this She's all back together again now and I've just taken it up the road for the first time since september and although a little smokey no more than I would expect and I expect this to reduce as the rings wear in. So thanks again all for the help. Catch you sometime out there......

Looking at the meat on those liners, I'd have gone for at least 3mm, up the capacity a bit

Talking about " meat in those liners " what is the practical limit on liner wall thickness?

Kiwiz, you'll get different answers from different people. I tend to err on the safe side. So with a set of 900 cylinders (66mm stock), 1015cc (70mm) is the most I'll go personally - there are people who say 104cc (71mm) is the max, but that leaves a very thin wall.

Similar with the 1015cc cylinders, I'll only ever go 1075cc (72mm), although I know people running 1105cc (73mm). With both the 1045cc and 1105cc bores for 900 & 1000 respectively, I do know several people who distorted the sleeves - not something worth risking for a small number more cc's.
