I couldn't find this with a search so bear with me if this has been asked elsewhere and I didn't find it. Bought a new speedo cable for the Z900 but then found the original has had the fitting at the wheel end swapped to 8mm. Its been forced on to the cable and peened over so not a bad job just not right. Bought another off ebay for cheap but found that is also an 8mm male end.
Now I've either been supplied the wrong cable as its 10mm each end whether clocks or wheel, or have 2 speedo drives from something else, maybe smaller Z?
Anyone got any ideas? Happy to buy another cable so long as I know which one does 10mm to 8mm.

Z900 Speedo drive

Re-measured everything to check. The threaded portion of the speedo drive measures 10.44mm with the vernier touching inside the thread so seems like thats going to be a 12mm 1.25 pitch. The new cable is a pattern part so am guessing that this might be the culprit as it just slides over the threads on the speedo gear. Guess a genuine part would be the next step unless there is wisdom you guys can shed on this.
