HI ALL

HAVING PROBLEM SELECTING ANY GEARS BUT NEUTRAL AND FIRST, JUST MEETING SOLID RESISTANCE ME BIKE IS A Z1R. ANYBODY HELP ?

Is that with the engine running. If the engine is not running you cannot get second gear upwards.

Only know this after trying for a week to solve a gearbox problem on my old Harris before Rich put me straight. luckily just before I stripped the engine.

As Padders says, you can only get 1st & neutral when stationary!
To get 2nd onwards, you must be moving (with engine running - DERRRR!).
The gearbox has a ball bearing which stops 2nd being selected, unless things are moving, ie: you're actually riding the bike :!: :wink:
My Zed is difficult to get neutral when stopped at the best of times. I usually try to catch it as I come to a stop :shock:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

THANKS GUYS (PIGFORD & PADDERS) HAVE RIDEN MY ZED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 23 YEARS ( RESTORATION ETC ) EVEN IF IT WAS ONLY UP THE DRIVE, I'M SO CHUFFED !!!
