tarozzi rearsets

#1 PostAuthor: Redbeard » Sun Jan 17, 2010 8:49 pm

Just been on the disco volante site, im after some rearsets for the ST. i know a few of you have them, but is it best to go for model specific or universal fitting ones? there's quite a price difference. if model specific, would the MK2 or J ones do the job as ST isn't listed. Mine is 1980. Thanks.

I think universal fit ones might be bare levers and pegs, LESS hardware-you'll have to buy extra clevises, pins, rods whatever needed to fit your bike (can be seen on diagrams) best calculate the cost of extra bits needed, I got myself a model specific folding set for Z900 and it was straight fit

Any idea if they will interfere with the kickstart?

it does interfere slightly, let's say the kickstart travel is 180 degrees, at about 150 it hits the tarozzi's brake lever (it's soft and gets marked), nothing can fix this - have to live with it, I kick start ocassionally just to show off and to save the lever I do it with footpeg opened so about 90 degrees has to do, and it does fine

That sounds ok, i think 90-150 degrees is enough to fire up my bike with the kick start. i use it all the time so i think i'll get away with it. thanks mate.

They don't do ST specific ones, anyone know if the MK2 ones be close enough? I know there are subtle frame differences but anyone got a better idea? Some pics of mine if it helps...

Redbeard, there is quite a difference, check RAASK website, they list MK2 and ST rearsets separately and they look way different, I had Raasks on my bike before and they worked OK but had rather agricultural look, ST back plates seem to be a bit nicer, at least you have an option if no joy with Tarozzis http://www.raask.se/ind-eng.htm (rearsets/pick model)

You're right, quite a difference between the 2. Your help is much appreciated, looks like raask may be the way to go for the ST. Thanks again!
