Hello all,
the next step in the J2 restoration saga is having to tackle a totally butchered wiring loom. Back in 1986, when the bike was only 4 years old, the loom was massacred by a total moron as he tried to sort an electrical failure. He chopped off all connectors near the battery area (ignition, alternator, literally everything!!!) and replaced it with tacky scotch-blocks and similar rubbish.
As it turned out, only the battery was at fault and NOTHING ELSE. To$$er!!!
Anwyays, I'm now on the lookout for a clean Z1000J wiring loom to replace the sorry mess this (not so) skillful mechanic left behind.
Also, I need a filler cap/ignition/seat lock assembly because the present ignition lock is nigh on impossible to use. To say it's worn out would be an understatement...
Anyone?
Cheers,
Niek

Fuel tap diaphragm spring
Also needed for restoring the J2: a fuel tap spring thingie. (see drawing below)
This little necessity (part number 92081-1054) is listed NLS (no longer supplied) so I am on the lookout for a J2 fuel tap diaphragm spring, alternatively a complete fuel tap or a spring from another model. Does anyone have experience with this?
Cheers,
Niek

Cheers for pointing out the spring on the Bay. Looks like I have to refine my Ebay-search-skills a bit. It's as simple as typing the part number in the search bar!

Thanks for this Chris, much appreciated!
<rant mode> Sorry to say this, but Speedsupplies are a con. I once searched the internet for some ZL900 Eliminator decals, using part numbers. Guess which site came up on top? Exactly. Ordered the parts using their online shop and payed. And waited. And waited.
Then after more than 2 months and several unanswered e-mails I googled "speed supplies" and (to my horror) found nothing but negative comments on them. Oh great, that's $200+ down the drain. After several more e-mails my money was (finally) returned but they never apologised, never replied but annoyingly still list every bloody part Kawasaki has ever made as still available. Imbeciles!

John Browse, Wrexham, seems to have loads of J bits recently got an excellent rear mudguard from him though not cheap, his numbers on google or he ads in the back of Cmm, Cheers Paul J...
