Made a little progress with my front end recently.
I won a polished hayabusa bottom yoke on ebay, with the stem included but already removed. All I need to do now is fit a Z1000J stem to the bottom yoke.
First of all I got my doner stem/yoke
Next I cut off as much of the bottom yoke as possible.
I then mounted it in my trusty Myford & turned it down to the same size as the Busa stem.
Here it is all finished & ready to fit.
But this will have to wait until tomorrow, as I plan to use the oven to heat the bottom yoke & the freezer to shrink the stem & currently the wife is in residence, cooking the Sunday dinner

B*stard!
Fitted stem last night, cant believe how easily it slipped in using the oven/freezer method. Turned a small spacer to stop bottom yoke fouling frame & assembled the forks & yokes into the frame. It appears the bottom yoke is twisted, B*stard ebayer nagged for feedback the day the thing was delivered, now I know why! I have sent him a little message & will await his response before going down the ebay claim route

OK, Got my money refunded for the duff Busa yoke! I had the stem pushed out of a set of TL yokes & fitted the one I'd turned down originally. This is it now, but all lugs & seams will be removed then I'll get Mikey to do his magic. I have some extensions that will be fitted for the final build.
I managed to turn down a spacer to sleeve the swinging arm bolt so I could bolt in my swinger. I have ordered some 'U' section aluminium to make some shock mounts for the swinger & I am working out the best/easiest way to extend the top shock mounts.
