Standard jetting z1000A1/Harris 4into1

#1 PostAuthor: Steve Cooke » Sat Mar 24, 2007 8:52 pm

I am in the last stages of getting my A1 on the road (tune up) and my carbs have a standard jet set up ie. 107.5 mains/17.5 pilots breathing through a standard airbox minus the silencer which is missing and the bike is fitted with a Harris 4 into 1. is this the best option? any advice would be appreciated.

If you are running a street baffle in the Harris, you'll probably be alright. If you're running the race baffle, I'd go 112.5 mains just to stop it leaning out at the top end. I don't think you need to go to the point of raising needles or anything like that, It'll just drink more fuel and go slower.

just a thought but the harris pipe was never made for a street baffle, they only did this for the noise law if you cut all the shit off and just leave the end plug the bike should work abit better and is not as loud as the race baffle. harris themselves told me this a few years ago, my mate baz did this to his mk2 harris and it went like stink
