Which Carbs?
Trying to find some Z1A carbs with no success. I believe they are 28mm which are difficult to find. Question is, would the more commonly available 26mm carbs work, and are there any other options

I probably will Ken, just thought it would be nicer (looks and running wise) to have original carbs. Strange logic considering what I'm planning for the rest of it

hi there, I fitted some 26mm carbs to my 1972 Z1, they physically fit ok, a bit deeper front to back but only a few mm. They run really nice, smooth even tickover, better, better low rev pick up than the 28mms and on a run 55-60 mpg at 70-80 mph. They may have clipped a little off the top speed, but the driveability at low to medium revs is where I use it most of the time.

Thanks Simon, that is interesting to know. Seems bigger isn't always better?
