Caliper Seals

#1 PostAuthor: Keith » Sat Nov 07, 2009 10:28 pm

Anyone know if/where you can get the o rings and damper rubber plugs for the front caliper on a Z1000A1 cheap

Know they are available in a full seal kit but that's around £30 each caliper and has the small boots which i don't need.

Cheers

Keith

do you mean brand new Keith, i think i may have the two large piston rubbers (used but good), i will be home later today and look.then the o rings for the bolts could be bought at the plumbers for a few pence.

oh yes, mine came off a z1a, anybody know if they are the same, i know there is a 1mm difference in piston size between US/ UROPEAN bikes.

seals

#5 PostAuthor: Keith » Sun Nov 08, 2009 10:21 am

Thanks for replies

Have the 2 main seals

It's the small o rings, part no. 43053-006 and damper rubber plug 43088-002 i'm after

the o rings are 10mm but my parts refernce doesn't give anything for the damper rubber

As MickZ1a suggests will any small 10mm o ring do and is the damper rubber just a rubber washer?

Mine didn't have them on so hace nothing for reference

Cheers

do you mean the rubber boots Keith, they are like a rubber thimble with a whole in them, i think i have one of those at home, zpower do sell them seperetly.as far as i could tell when i did mine, the o rings were just standard rubber rings.

Thank Mickz1A

Got the boots and i'll use and as you suggest i'll use a standard O ring

Anyone know what the other part looks like - rubber washer?

Cheers

well, im home, looked everywhere, no rubbers, but as you say Keith, you have the two i have anyway, looking at the zpower parts catalogue, the z900 has more rubber in it than the z1a that i did, i imagine the z1000 is the same caliper as the z900. so i am of no help with the extra rubber washer im afraid.
