Z1000 cylinder head
two of my shims are down to size 200 which I believe is the "end of the line" for future adjustment. Also the head has some major fin damage. So I just wondered if anybody has a Z1000 A1 or A2 cylinder head for sale.
which valves,as the valve in a toyota 4.2 deisel land cruiser is the same size as one in these engines, the stems are longer, therefore you can make them the right size,i also have a head here, but its an import one with the holes going down into exhaust valves.i have the cam cover to go with it.if its any good to you.

Hi GB I think what the Clymer manual is saying is that top part of the valve stem (from the collet groove to the top) must not be ground below 4.2mm. I have just taken out the first valve & that part of the valve stem measures approx 5mm. Therefore in theory I suppose I could have up to 0.8mm ground off that one. As you say taking say 0.4mm or even a bit less sounds about right. Cheers Gaz

The installed valve height should be within the range of 37.17 - 38.06mm if It's more than that up to a maximum of 38.37mm you can take up to a maximum of 0.3mm from the stem, there should be a minimum of 4.2mm left above the groove. The next move after that would be oversize valves.
The installed valve height should be measured from the top of stem to the cylinder head surface without the spring seat being in place.
