Got the bike in bits and stripped it down a little further. I have had the frame, swing arm, battery box and a few other parts blasted and then powder coated.
Am in the middle cleaning the rest of the parts ready to be powder coated as well.
Stripped out the front forks and about to begin the rebuild of them.
Appart from that, it is how it arrived. The engine turns over but the bike has been of the road since 94. Looking at theh condition of the parts i would be surprised if the bike had covered more than 15k miles as the wheels only have a little surface rust.
Garage is small as the wife wanted a new utility room and a kids playroom to hide all the junk in. Hence a small garage. I was ok when i only had one bike as the door shuts with an inch to spare. May be a problem if the z is any longer !!!!!!
Do also have a car - but you gessed it - its in bits on the drive as another ongoing project that was in bits when i purchased it. I feel a trend comming on here.
Good luck with the project Rob. I'm at a similar stage, should keep us both busy for a while.
BTW, your garage looks relatively tidy compared to mine a few months ago. Luckily there are plenty of guys here happy to shame you into cleaning it up, mentioning no names, Mick z1a,
I agree with Phil, screw the house, concentrate on the bike!
its all changed these days kids would play in the garden or bedroom yrs ago then you could tell the mrs she could have the wash tub in the garage ,then the wall could come down
dragracing, because it takes more than one ball !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
