Yes twas good to see a few faces again despite the rain god dumping lots of H2O directly on the pub car park. CB you were spot on with your prediction that it would be dry only a few miles away. We lost Noel around Exeter but I'm sure he got back to sunny Bodmin in no time at all. After 150 miles of thrashing I spent less than an hour cleaning up my 31 year old Zed and it looks like new.(ok nearly new). What a great bike. :D

The weather might have been crap and it does seem that I have pissed the almighty right off as when ever I arrange a gathering of Zeddists it pisses down. This time the rain seemed to restrict itself to a ten mile radius around the venue and timed to coincide with our journey to and from the boozer

CB wheeler her Fazer out, her Zed still feeling a bit under the weather and this is what I saw

Image

this was enough to tell me that the Old Gurl best stay where she was

and that my two wheeled barge had best take the strain

When we tied up in the Wagon and Horse's marina, I assumed that we would be the only folk attending, but in a short while we were joined by Ginger Bear and his new wife, Gail, who is FAR to good for him  But then I think he's the first to admit that

Coldsummer then rocked up shortly followed by Buckle . Sorry to hear of your mishap on the way home Buckle but that'll teach you to dis God (Gilmore) . Great to meet a new face Simon. :D

After chatting for a while we assumed that we were the only ones coming and ordered up some lunch. No sooner had our grub arrived than three Zeds turned up :D

Noel had ridden all the way up from Cornwall and had spent an hour in the pissing rain unable to find us, and was just on the point of giving up and riding home, when Rob and Kev came into view, so he followed them. I have to say that I salute these fine Zeddists who always make the effort to support our meetings come rain or shine, I take my Arai off to them :D

The food was great and the welcome from the staff was everything it wasn't at the Castlebrook.

Is Rob trying to warm his seat here?

That's a shame Jon. Not sure how far you got, but the pub is signposted off the A37 just beyond Gurney Slade and just before Shepton Mallet.

Jon, for one/some of next years meets - lets join up in Gloucester and and ride down together?

Might even be able to get Nick Pearce to bring one of his collection of interesting classics along - has a nice 1000J in ELR trim.

Cheers.

sometimes, not as much as I'd like - work often gets in the way.

Meetings every Wed evening during the spring/summer - locations are all over north glos - i tend to hear about them through word-of-mouth - but they did put up a website last year http://www.bikers-nite.org/ - but notice it hasn't had anything done to it for a while, possibly waiting for next season?

Hope to see ya at one next year?
