Calipers

Anyone know what calipers other than the z range will fit a z1000A1? ie Bandit, ZRX, XJR etc

If you are using all standard front end you can only use twin pot sliding calipers ie zx10 as there is not enough gap between the wheel for more modern brakes unless you go for pretech calipers .Think this is right :roll:

I’ve often thought of fitting multi pot callipers to my A1, but nearly all fixed callipers are just too wide for spoked wheels.
Has anyone done this mod :?:

Yeah... Pretech fit on std wire Z1 wheels/forks... Ones plenty though :wink:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

I was looking at fitting a set of calipers for my project that would bolt straight on to standard forks but gave up, unless you want to make a bracket but to me they look ugly, so i think pretech your best bet ,have look at guyzed z1000 they do look the dogs and work well

The ZXR ones will not fit.

Try Harrison Billet as well they make some that are a straight fit.

Or Z Power do some AP calipers that come with the alloy adapter plate

I got my polished Pretech's for £200 quid each - i know that sounds alot but they are worth every penny.

blimey - they're a bit narrow, look like they cover about 1/3 rd of the disc.

doesn't that cuase problems like disc warp?
