Vance and Hines baffle

#1 PostAuthor: Holeshot » Sat Sep 05, 2009 12:59 pm

I've got a V&H 4:1 on my Z1000 at the moment.
Love the pipe but it's got the race baffles in which sound suuuperb but are seriously loud when really on cam.
Question is; where can I get standard baffles from as I lost my original one when I moved house? A UK supplier would be preferable if poss.

Cheers :)

Have you tried Debbens?

http://www.debben.co.uk/
Four pipes rule, anything else is second best.

Not in the uk but Z1 enterprises sell V+H pipes and Jeff Saunders who runs it posts on this site. The pipes are made in the US and are much cheaper over there than here. Have bought lots stuff from them and they ship stuff over quickly without ripping off for postage like some in the US.

I didn`t realise there were 2 different baffles available for the V & H, mine has a perforated tube that runs the length of the silencer which i use on the road with no extra packing around it, and to me it isn`t overly loud and sounds great.
You can wrap some exhaust packing material (the fibreglass type roll stuff) around the baffle and hold it in place with some lockwire, that makes it alot quieter, which i now have to do for Brighton to get it through the noise test. :( What kind of baffle do you have at the moment?

Mine is same as AndyZ1R's set up - re: no wadding, and not overly noisy for road use...
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Mines the same, keep the revs low through the villages and no problems; did go round the m65 access roundabout 4 times yesterday morning though, giving it some stick under the motorway bridges!!!

Love it
